a) For quantitative analysis of lipolysis and lipogenesis, logarithm transformed phenotypes were used as independent quantitative variables in linear regression models. Genotypes were indicated as character (nominal) with three levels, two alternative homozygous and heterozygous.
b) The concentration (log mol/l) of hormone or agonist causing half maximum effect was determined using logistic conversion of each concentration response curve. This value was converted to its negative form (pD₂), which reflects hormone sensitivity.
c) Lipolysis is expressed as mmol of glycerol/2 h/10⁷ cells.
