For example, shaded areas in the figures represent for the probability that the effect size (AA vs. AV/VV) of >0.1 SD of FNBMD and LSBMD by using random-effects model, respectively. These areas accounted for ~34% of the whole area under the curve for femoral neck BMD and ~54% for lumbar spine BMD. In other words, the probability that the effect size (AA vs. AV/VV) of >0.1 SD was ~34% for FNBMD and ~54% for LSBMD. Results from fixed-effects and random-effects analysis were almost identical for LSBMD. FNBMD, femoral neck bone mineral density; LSBMD; lumbar spine bone mineral density; 1 SD was 0.12 g/cm2 for BMD at the femoral neck and 0.17 g/cm2 at the lumbar spine.
