Linkage disequilibrium pattern of the ARNT region based on HapMap data. Markers selected for genotyping in our case-control cohorts are marked by an asterisk (*). The top portion of each diagram shows the known exon-intron structure. Only SNPs with a minor allele frequency over 5% in HapMap data were selected to construct the linkage disequilibrium map. Figure 2 shows linkage disequilibrium based on the r2 statistic using Hapmap Caucasian (CEPH) data.
