  1. Body mass index z-scores (BMI z-score) were calculated as described by Cole et al [18] using LMS variables from the international obesity task force (IOTF). Two-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used to compare between groups. Group means were compared to the normal weight group in the greek cohort and with the control population in the swedish cohort. *** - p < 0.0001. ns – not significant.
