  1. A multivariable model including a total of four SNP-SNP interactions was built in the African-American cohort of GENOA using forward selection. With the addition of each SNP-SNP interaction, along with each SNP's respective main effect, the variability in adjusted logLVM increased (assessed by adjusted R2) as did the predictive ability of the model in cross-validation test sets (assessed by full model CV R2). The final multivariable model explained 11.3% of the observed inter-individual variation in adjusted logLVM in GENOA and increased the predictive ability of the model by 5.6%.
