  1. aHeritability is the proportion of interindividual phenotypic variance explained by additive genetic factors, measured on a scale from 0 to 1. Heritability estimates were significantly greater than 0 (P < 0.001) except waist circumference (P = 0.11) and WHR (P = 0.05) among pre-menopausal women. Obesity traits were adjusted for age, parity, education, smoking, physical activity, and oophorectomy. BMI was not adjusted in model estimates of heritability.
