  1. FEV1 Forced expiratory volume in one second, FVC forced vital capacity. Number in brackets represents data available for that variable. Continual variables between Controls and COPD groups were compared by independent T-Test, categorical variables by Pearson chi square (all variables p < 0.0001). Similarly, all variables between males and females were statistically different.
